Tips for packing your suitcase

Suitcases, rucksacks and bags

On city breaks, you’ll need luggage for the journey – a suitcase, trolley or travel bag – and a flexible option for exploring; a day rucksack is ideal here. If you’re flying and have a suitcase that you can roll comfortably, bear in mind that some countries may not have paved pavements like in Germany, which can make using a wheeled suitcase impractical; in that case, a rucksack might be the better choice.

Money / Finances

When on a city break, cash and possibly foreign currency are essential, but your bank cards are just as important for withdrawing money if necessary. It’s a good idea to carry two wallets so you don’t have all your cash on you. You should also have your bank’s emergency contact details to hand in case there are any problems with your cards.
