Jost: A Family Business
Jost-Bags is a classic family business. Several generations ago, in 1891 to be precise, a passion for leather goods began with a small saddlery. The idea for JOST-Bags, as it exists today, came from Dietmar Jost, who, together with Robert Adolf, remains the company’s managing director to this day. In 2002, he founded the brand, which stands for modern, select and high-quality design, with the majority of its bags produced in Europe. So, the Jost brand was launched in 2002, initially focusing primarily on men’s and unisex messenger bags, which were all the rage at the time. Just two years later, the company’s first women’s collection followed. The first flagship store of this classic yet modern brand opened in Berlin in 2007. In 2016, the brand’s design and communication strategy was completely overhauled and remains in place to this day. Jost is thus synonymous with distinctive designs crafted from leather and vegan materials, which are both practical and stylish, making them the perfect companions for travel and everyday life.

Jost’s bags and rucksacks are modern yet timeless. They feature an exceptional design with a distinctive flair of its own. Thanks to their immense appeal combined with the right functionality, the brand has already won several design awards. More than twenty employees do their utmost to develop and manufacture innovative products. Whilst Jost started out in 2002 exclusively with men’s products, the company now also offers bags for women. The range extends from shoulder bags, rucksacks, travel bags and bum bags to accessories for women, as well as business and laptop bags, mobile phone pouches and much more for men. Over the years, Jost-Bags has blossomed into a successful family business that is renowned both nationally and internationally and delights people with its bags and rucksacks. This success is based on many years of experience, as well as the necessary expertise and reliability. Jost bags are renowned for their high quality. They are available in shops across German-speaking countries, but can also be found in international department stores.
As Jost aims to move with the times despite its traditions, vegan bags and rucksacks are now also available here. However, the core competence and heart of the family business remain leather goods, just as they did over 100 years ago in the small saddlery where it all began.
