City breaks – travelling with the right luggage

Whether it’s a long weekend in Paris, a short break to Rome or a few days in an exciting metropolis – city breaks offer plenty of variety. To ensure you can enjoy your trip in a relaxed manner, having the right luggage is key. A compact suitcase or a practical rucksack offers enough space for clothes, electronics and personal items, without unnecessarily restricting you whilst you’re out and about.

For a city break lasting 3 to 5 days, we recommend rucksacks with a capacity of 20 to 35 litres, combined with a suitcase with a capacity of 30 to 45 litres. A rucksack is particularly handy if you’re doing a lot of walking, using public transport or changing locations frequently. A compact trolley, on the other hand, offers greater comfort when travelling and keeps your luggage organised thanks to its well-designed interior layout.

City breaks – Discover new cities and unique experiences

Discover the diversity of fascinating cities – from bustling metropolises to charming small towns. Whether it’s culture, sightseeing, shopping or fine dining: a city break offers you the perfect opportunity to get to know new places and escape the daily grind for a few days. Whether it’s a spontaneous weekend trip or a longer city break – with the right planning and the right luggage, your trip will be a relaxing experience.

Our tips for your next city break

  • Don’t plan too much: focus on a few selected sights and leave plenty of time to explore the city at your own pace. It’s often the little cafés, hidden alleyways and local markets that make a city break special.
  • Travel as light as possible: for a city break lasting 3 to 5 days, a compact suitcase with a capacity of 30 to 45 litres or a rucksack with a capacity of 20 to 35 litres is usually sufficient. Pack versatile clothing that can be mixed and matched, and comfortable shoes, as you’ll quickly clock up plenty of kilometres whilst sightseeing.
  • Use public transport: Many cities are ideal for exploring by bus, train or on foot. Find out in advance about day tickets and city passes, which can save you money on travel and attractions.
  • Choose the right accommodation: a central location or good links to public transport saves time and gives you more flexibility for your activities.

Whether you’re travelling alone, as a couple or with friends – with a bit of preparation, plenty of time for spontaneous discoveries and the right luggage, your next city break will be an unforgettable experience.
